Why Photo Carvings
As a cabinet maker, I have a long standing love of working with wood, finding deep satisfaction and joy in both the creative process and in the details of crafting things of beauty and quality. My work has always been inspired by old world values of quality in workmanship and materials, and in honouring people. In the creation of the various photo carvings I see a beautiful marriage of these values and my love for people, with the work I have loved for so long.
Using effective cutting edge methods and unique ways of carving, not just re-printing, photos/document that are dear to you, my passion is to create one of a kind renderings of your precious photos and memories, that are beautiful to see and touch. I use materials and methods that don’t just evoke a feeling or impression of enduring quality but in fact are of such quality, in materials and workmanship, that they truly do honour those people/memories and give the owners genuine pride of ownership.
One of the greatest high points for me is to see you, my customer, light up when you see and hold what I have made for you. Knowing that you’re are happy is one of my most desired pay-offs!
